Proposed Designs for 9×9 Gift Box
Collateral Graphic Design
To start community outreach, whether it is to arrange book signings at libraries, or to introduce herself to other ministry groups, Tekoa needed a low budget way to send out press releases and other correspondence. I created a basic letterhead template in Microsoft Word, which is the primary application she works in, so it would be very convenient to open the digital file and enter her custom communication and print out finished letter herself. We also decided that we would only make kits as we needed them and they needed to be produced from a home printer, so for printing efficiency, I put PR Folder cover label and inside Business card sticker on 8.5 x 11 format so it was an efficient use of adhesive paper output.
For the customers we designed and created mobile app for, we also designed a marketing piece to help them promote it to their customers. You can see sample postcards and counter cards here.
As a college student at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design back in 1989, I participated in the Visual Resources Group that provided design services for real world applications. This client was 4cChildcare. Client revealed that they had several departments that worked together, however only the Resource and Referral department was looking to have a logo created. So my design strategy was to offer something that could be used for all departments and would create a cohesive identity for the company. This concept was well received and all departments adopted the concept. Again this was produced before desktop publishing was common and multiple color printing was more costly. As this organization’s services continue today, the updating of the logo has retained the core element of my original design (as seen below on their website).
