KENTUCKY TRAVEL GUIDE
In the history of the Kentucky Travel Guide, the focus has been on local attractions, events, parks and lakes, etc. but in light of what we have been experiencing in 2020, when tourism has been crippled, there seemed to be a need to highlight a part of our culture that is enjoyed, but often overlooked. Agri-tourism.
Please go to my original document to read blog and have access to hyperlinks. Below is a graphic of how it appeared on the website, but this website will cease to exist at some point, due to the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism industry and the owners choice to cease operations.
In the 2019 edition of The Kentucky Travel Guide, the Bourbon and Wine Trail Map spans the gutter of the publication and is hard to see the contents.
The index for the map is on the inside back cover of the publication.
In the 2020 publication I was able to split the maps into 2 separate categories and orient them so they did not cross the gutter of the book and makes the numbers easier to find and follow.
Updated branding applied to T-shirt for promotion
The Updated Branding is a marriage of what identity people are used to seeing on the cover of the Travel Guide and in social media. What was present on their website, as the recognizable outline of the great state of Kentucky, was not tied together with other branding, not even the same font. So I fixed that.
You can see that incorporating the state outline enhances the existing branding and avoids confusion. When people visit the website, they will know they are in the right place.
Updated inconsistent branding between website and print.
You can see the actual printed travel guide here.
SOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTIONS
When I joined Kentucky Travel Guide (KTG) to design/produce their 2020 edition, I saw opportunities to breathe some new life into their marketing efforts.
