In todays culture, trafficking has a whole different connotation than it did when I first got hired to establish an advertising agency traffic management system/position, to improve internal communication process, production status management, and vendor relations. So the function of scheduling projects in the agency and the efficient flow and notification to staff and account reps who inform the clients was not nearly as automated as it is now.
